Rock Solid Custom Concrete is very difficult to work with. I have been trying to get Rocky to repair custom counter tops for almost 4 months on a new home he installed counter tops in. He sets appointments, then does not show, doesn't call, and won't answer his phone from that point on. When you do get to talk to Rocky, he always has an excuse as to why he didn't make it out, or why he couldn't call (Phone lost, material on another job sight, etc...) While his work looks nice, it does not hold up, and he will not stand by his craft. I wish they did, but I guess I will have to take this to court, and employ another contractor to repair their poor craftsmanship. If Rocky ever does complete the repairs I will let all know how they did...
Update...Rocky has completed the repair. His work looks great, plus he took time out to demonstrate the proper way of maintaining the counter tops along with a demonstration on how to maintain the shower he installed. Additionally, Rocky is going to supply a care and maintenance kit for the concrete counter tops so that we can keep them looking like he just finished installing them. A very nice man, and takes a great deal of pride in his work. Part of the reason we had a problem initially was because of the amount of work he has at the moment. He is extremely busy and is doing some great work out at the Lake of the Ozarks...Keep him in mind if you have counter tops, flooring, etc... that you want done.
This review has evolved somewhat. It started as a one star review which prompted a rather heated discussion between the owners and I. The reason I have decided to change my review from a 1 to a 4 I would like to explain. First the negative. In my line of work, if given a deadline, that isn't a negotiable timeline. Missing a suspense is a career ending event. The gentlemen continued to not show up to my site for work and missed the agreed upon finish date. The one job turned into two and continued to not show up to begin work on the second portion and I had enough.
I guess the bottom line is as long as you are willing to wait for a unique product, go for it.
DID NOT compete. Took 6 months to compete half of task hired for and now not answering phone.
Now the good: The real reason I decided to upgrade my rating is after showing people the work this gentlemen has done. It is truly a unique floor finish and have received a lot of wows, and this is awesome, even from my contractor buddies.
