They were nice enough. The transaction went smoothly. The car worked fine for about a month, and then something popped and it stopped working. The mechanic said that there was a very bad leak of the water pump which must have been happening for a while, which means they need to replace the water pump and the timing belt. They also said the catalytic converter would need to be replaced. I asked if any of this would have been obvious during a routine check up and they said yes. I am now out $2000. Don't go here.
Of course, it's not covered somehow. Cant wait to see how much this costs. "If you have them reset the warning light, it'll probably stay off" Scott says, which makes me think thats exactly what they did to pass the buck on to us.
Don't be fooled by the nice salesman and a "90 day warrantee" that doesn't actually cover repairs.
Also, bought the car on Friday evening, parked it for the weekend and got it licenced monday. Tuesday the check Engine Ligh is on. we take it in to get diagnostics: needs a coolant thermostat.
I just want to say that this was one of the best experiences I have ever had when going to purchase a vehicle. It took me about a week to figure out my loan situation, on top of being stuck with a broke-down truck and a 12-hour work shift, and through it all Scott and Joe worked with me and helped in every way they could. Even kept up with me on their days off while I was getting all this stuff done. And on top of that, the car I got was a wonderful deal-- 2007 Pontiac with only 93000 miles, for $5795, which, according to my bank AND Kelley Blue Book, is $605 less than the total worth of this car. Thank you guys so much and I will definitely be recommending you to anyone I know who is looking for a good and honest deal!
"Good thing we have that 90 day warranty" I say to my husband, so we give Scott a call.
I give this place 5 stars! A little over 3 months ago, I purchased a 2008 Mazda 6 with 120,000 miles. I did my own research on the Mazda 6 and decided that it was the car I wanted. The owner and that salesman there... Oh, Scott, yeah, they were both nice. I showed up there with the amount of cash they were asking for the car, I looked it over, went for a spin, and I was done with paperwork in like 20 minutes! Excellent car, and it's my daily driver!! I highly recommend these guys! I know the car business is hard, but these guys do everything they can to sell good vehicles! THANK YOU JEFF CITY MOTORS!!
They weren't interested in helping us because we didn't have cash in hand. We wanted to test drive a car and if it drove fine we would have purchased it. But before we got to it he pretty much told us if we couldn't pay for it today in cash, he didn't have time to waste on us. I hope the other couple that came in after us got treated better. We will never consider using this place and will make sure all our friend don't either.
While Scott the salesman was very nice and the transaction went smoothly, he did tell us we could drive the car home without a temp tag (he said if we got pulled over "show them your paperwork, you'll be fine). This is absolutely not the case, as we learned at the license beuroe, had we been pulled over our car would have been towed and we would have been issued tickets. Why dont hey issue temp tags like everyone else?
