I had been going to Dix Road cleaners for 2 or 3 years with no problems. Last year I took my favorite lined wool slacks. When I picked them up, they were in the plastic bag, as usual, so I didn't notice anything until I got home. My first alert was that half of one of the pants legs was wrinkled and obviously had not gone through the pressing process. Then I saw why. There was a huge, what looked like a chemical spill, stain about 4" x 6" on the bottom half of the unpressed leg. When I took them back, the lady was very defensive and rude as she told me that it came to them that way, which was a bold-faced lie, and they refused to make any compensation. If they had admitted that they accidentally spilled something on the slacks, I would not have been so upset and probably would have let the whole issue go. I pointed out that they had not pressed that area of the stain, and had taken my money and given them back to me with no explanation. They skirted the issue and repeated that I must have stained them myself before I brought them. So, I no longer patronize the Dix Road Cleaners as they are dishonest. Deborah L. Reed (not Steve Reed)
Shirt loss. A couple of weeks ago I took some shirts and a couple pair of pants into Dix Cleaners and as usual there was a new person working the front as she did not know my name. The lady that usual works the front counter knows my name. Anyway, I gave her my clothes and she told me my clothes would be ready that following Wednesday. Well I went into pick up my clothes two weeks later and when I got there that morning the usual person that works the counter was there. She proceeded to find my clothes and when she had all my clothes together I checked and I noticed one of my shirts was missing. I told her and she proceeded to look for it. Before hand she asked me who took my order and I told her and she said "well that girl no longer works here" , I said ok but where is my shirt. She asked me what color and everything. I told her and she could not find it. She said the manager will be in later that morning and she would give him my name and number to call me if they find it. She said if he don't call you I will call you for sure and let you know something. Well no one called me that day or the day after. I called them and was told the manager just left and when he return I will have him call you. Well he never called me that day or the day afterwards. A few days later I called them again, and guess what the manager just left again. Was asked again for my name and number and was assured once the manager came back I will have him to call you. Well he never did. I called them again and this time I asked for the owner and was told his name was Nick, and I said Nick who and the lady on the phone said I don't know his last name. I heard in the background before I was put on hold someone lady say what do he want. When she came back on the phone I asked to speak with the lady and I will tell her what I wanted. She got on the phone and the first thing she said was what is your name and number. I said you have my name and number already from the 4 other times I have called and for some reason the manager is never there. She said I will text him right now and have him to called you. If you are going to lie make sure you lie good. Well I have not received that called from the manager or the owner. Let me say this Dix Cleaners is the business that I am talking about and they have poor service. If the manager had called me back we could have worked something out but they have chose to do good business. They have lost a customer and I will be advising my friends not to do business there.
