They always said dont have funds i need help with my electric bills
Their food pantry. The people that work at the front desk need a class on working with the public. Not everyone likes asking for help with food but, you don't have to also make me feel twice as bad by talking down to me.
When I finally got a real person on the phone, she tells me to dial "3", I said that number is just a recording. She says I have to leave a message - I say "there's no option for that" she says "ok" and transfers me. The other person I talked to was a man, and he said "I'll be over there in a sec" ....Soooo yeah- Not helpful at all, and rather rude.
Returned first thing Saturday morning only to be turned away again (into a rainstorm no less) because they don't admit people on the weekend. Yes. The "Christian" Salvation Army doesn't admit people on the weekends.
Went on a Friday afternoon only to be turned away on the grounds that it was after 5 o'clock.
At this point, I admittedly lose my temper (I happen to think I've earned it by now) I slam the door as I leave and am told not to come back.
This place is a joke. They are rude, they are obnoxious, they couldn't care less about helping those in need, and the fact this is the only homeless shelter in Jefferson City is a crying shame.
Rude people. Everyone's on drugs. Hate the staff. No respect here.
Went back Monday morning only to be turned away one last time after the imbecile at the front desk effectively informed me that he didn't believe I was actually homeless. (Because the homeless shelter is clearly the first you go when you somewhere else to stay)
